The enchanted forest of Carvershire is was full of excitement and energy during our 35th Anniversary Season of King Richard’s Faire!
King Richard celebrated the 35th Anniversary being entertained with several new acts including: Luminous Fire and Flow, a beautiful fire, acrobatic and hoop act; Trash and Treasure, a fabulous new show for the entire family which offered wonderful audience participation; Hopeless Romantics, a terrific and funny one-man show; the talented Royalty Sings and Dances show with new royalty visiting our enchanted village; and the young princesses rushed to see our enchanting new mermaid as she arrived from the oceans surrounding Carvershire.
Many of his majesty’s favorites returned including: the bawdy Washing Well Wenches; talented high wire juggling antics from Squire of the Wire; magic and mayhem from The Wonder Show; high powered music from the Celtic group The American Rogues; beautiful aerial moves from Draiku; dangerous stunts from The Torture Show, the village whip master, Jacques Ze Whipper was back and we also had amazing acrobatic stunts and juggling from Daniel Duke of Danger; exotic animals from the Great Cats of the World show; life size puppets roamed the village; flying mud and hilarious antics by the Sturdy Beggars™ Mud Show; daring sword play from the Mis-Adventurers; sweet sounding minstrels roamed Carvershire as the magical fairies we call our Mystikals; and finally, the King’s brave knights jousted three times per day, with each joust more exciting than the next!
The Royal Chef was busy all year creating new delectable and scrumptious feasts for royalty, nobles and peasants alike.
The entire village was bustling with excitement to begin shopping from the King’s newest merchants: Seekers & Settlers, gorgeous hand-carved walking staffs, brooms and tree art; The Royal Braiders, our talented renaissance hair braiders for all maidens and princesses; Pearson’s Renaissance Shoppe, the newest line of 16th century clothing; Art Glass was a wonderful new artisan with beautiful stained glass art; Psychic Readings told you your future; Whimsical Brims offered fabulous renaissance hats; Fairy Secrets Bath and Soaps was a terrific artisan offering great smelling lotion, candles and soaps; Kaleidoscope Silver, returned for just two short weekends selling their fine made silver jewelry; Henna by Humi brought the authentic art of Henna tattoos to Carvershire; Sunnyside Workshop used the finest woods to hand-craft beautiful sounding flutes; Fairies & Mermaids made everyone’s fairy dreams come true with miniature fairies, mermaids and terrific fairy furniture to accompany them; Here Be Dragons joined us for two weekends showing off their extremely talented fantasy artwork; and for one weekend only, the Winchester School of Chinese Culture featured their gorgeous Chinese calligraphy art.
